5 selling + visibility lessons from Columbia Road Flower Market, East London

Last Sunday, we spent the morning at one of my favourite places; Columbia Road Flower Market. The walk from Hoxton to the Flower Market and then into Hackney City Farm is one my favourite Sunday strolls.

Our kids are 5 and 8 and as adults we are looking to get our stimulation from other places other than soft play centres!

There is an amazing playground on the edge of the market to tick the boxes of tag teaming and burning energy.

We then walked through Columbia Road- the market is on a Sunday (although the cute, independent shops that line the street are open all week) and picked up some bargains. One of the stall owners was my hair twin (Joey from Friends reference IYKYK) and sold me a beautiful palm for a pound!

If you head out of the market and 5 mins up the road (past our favourite yellow doors) you’ll find Hackney City Farm. There were some fresh little piglets and baby goats and the chickens just strolling around that amused our two city kids.
There’s a serene and interesting garden to wander through which takes you out of the city groove. The ‘pic n mix shop’ (our name for a refill/non packaging shop) delivered some excellent dried mango.

Just need to add; the kids watched telly in the afternoon :)

The kids were captivated by the banter and had many questions. Being amongst the hustle and bustle; there were so many business lessons around selling and visibility... I wanted to share more...

If you are looking for some back to school energy and support; I've got you.

If you are ready to make some mega moves; here are some excellent next steps:
