Being a mum of a two year old son and working across a variety of platforms/projects she can also share tips on how to start a personal brand, how to keep motivated and do the hustle so you create your ideal opportunities.
If you have followed me for a while, you will know I am a big dreamer. I always have been. If I am honest, often I have no idea where these dreams have come from.
Career wise I have never followed the rules and not progressed through a typical corporate trajectory.
I am never short of ideas but often short on time. One of my favourite things to do is to sit down with my notebook and write a plan of action. I like to brainstorm, consider possibilities and see my ideas in front of me.
Yesterday I did a Instagram live about 10 ways that you can accelerate your business/brand into action so you welcome more clients/customers/sales/money.
You can still see it live here. I am doing another Instagram Live tonight at 7:30pm so turn on the notification button in my Instagram profile and you will be notified when I go live.
The planning stage is wonderful, however when you are huddled up and getting clear about your ideas, perhaps you are not telling anyone that you are in business. Maybe your ideal customers (who are keen to pay you) don’t know about you.
I know being visible, selling your services and sharing what you do can be scary. Believe me, I know. But I promise, the more you do it, the easier it gets. And don’t worry, you don’t have to be a big old sleazy pants.
Here are 5 ways you can take action today:
1)Decide to take action. There is never going to be a perfect time when it just feels like the right time. You have to create it. I had the idea for my podcast three years ago. To be honest I procrastinated, I didn’t believe I could do it, I worried whether all the hard work would pay off. But at the end of last year, I had a word with myself. I declared it. I asked for help. I put systems in place and took a chance. The podcast has exceeded my expectations; I have spoken to people who I have followed online for years, I have increased my client base and income.
2) What are you focusing on? Sometimes our goals are too foggy. Just focus on the month ahead. It is March tomorrow, what do you want to achieve by the end of March? Find out about how I can help you throughout the month.
3) Tell people about what you do. Yep, say the words. Tell them where they can find you; the kind of work you do and what you have done previously.
4) Be unapologetic. Whatever it is you do and whatever stage you are at, please be proud. Make eye contact, commit and say what it is you are building or doing. Don't undersell yourself and mutter; ‘Yes…I am kind of doing this blog thing’ or ‘I have got this idea but I haven’t really done anything with it yet’ If you don’t feel that you are in a position to be the one who is doing all the talking, ask questions and get the information you need.
5) Work with timings. Don’t let you say that you will do x,y and z when you feel like it. Make clear action points for yourself. When? How many? How often? Work with your personality and circumstances. For example, if your brain switches into the snooze zone at 8:30pm, don’t set yourself a list of 20 emails to write.
