Yesterday's planning session was so great. You see, I have come along way.
I moved to London at 18 and got into one of the top drama schools (You have a 1 in 20 chance of getting in)... we were told on the one hand how lucky we were to be there but also there was an underlying presumption that life outside drama school was going to be tough. Which led to a lot of fear... so much has been invested moving to London...what if I am not good enough? What if I never get a job.
I decided to play my own game (funny that).
I left five months early because I got an agent and two jobs back to back. There have been times when I have waited for my career to happen...hoping and wishing. But the truth is life is far more interesting when you make it happen for yourself. For the last five years I have consciously planned out in detail (with some wiggle room for the unexpected) what I want my life to look like.
Now of course I know life isn't always smooth sailing but it is easier if you have a vague idea of what gives you that warm fuzzy feeling and you can course correct from there.
