Sometimes we have goals in our mind and despite telling ourselves ‘I really want to achieve this’ the goals begin to feel completely out of reach. After a while, doubt seems to creep in and we find ourselves faced with negative chat - ‘Is this even possible?’ ‘Maybe I shouldn’t do this’ ‘It probably won’t happen for me anyway’.
In this post, I would like to share 5 strategies with you to accelerate your process and put you back in the driving seat.
1.What is the result you want?
How will you know when you have achieved it? Sometimes a goal is too vague ‘I just want to be happier/thinner/richer’ so jot down what the goal actually is. Make it as specific as possible so you will know exactly when you have achieved it.
2. What are the factors that are getting in the way?
Are there times when you want to work on your goal but something always creeps in? Start to observe these triggers and ask yourself ‘What could I do?’ to eliminate them.
3.Ask for moral support
Often sharing our goal with a friend or family member provides encouraging results. A little support can go a long way.
4. Congratulate yourself
Acknowledge what you have done so far. It is likely you have taken some steps already; observe them and notice the hurdles you have overcome.
5. Take action
Take three action steps today that are going to bring you closer to your goal. Make a call, send an email, start a conversation that you have been putting off.
